“Support of Humble” Icon of the Mother of God

Commemorated on September 16.

By an ukaz of the Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on November 9/ 22, 1995, the Support of the Humble Icon of the Mother of God in Kiev's Monastery of the Entry, was recognized as miraculous.

There are numerous testimonies of those who turned to the Most Holy Theotokos in prayer and received healing, and the Icon is adorned with several votive offerings.

Your Icon is an impregnable wall, and a fountain of miracles,
for by it you protected the city of Pskov in the past;
and now, with compassion,
deliver us from all our troubles and sorrows,
and save our souls as a loving Mother.

Kontakion

O Most Pure Virgin, those who honor your Icon, the source of miracles,
give thanks for the gifts they receive;
you help both the living and the dead,
and you defend our city and our land;
and by offering prayers to your Son, you save us all.
