Venerable Pharmuthius the Anchorite of Egypt
Commemorated on April 11.
Saint Pharmuthius lived during the fourth century at the same desert monastery where Saint John (March 29) lived in asceticism within a well, to whom Saint Pharmuthius gave food.
Troparion
By a flood of tears you made the desert fertile,
and your longing for God brought forth fruits in abundance.
By the radiance of miracles you illumined the whole universe!
O our holy father Pharmuthius, pray to Christ our God to save our souls!
