First Prayer of St Basil the Great (before Communion)

O Master, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, who alone hast authority to forgive the sins of men: in Thy goodness and lovingkindness, overlook all my offences, both witting and unwitting; and vouchsafe me to receive without condemnation Thy divine, glorious, most pure and life-giving Mysteries, not unto chastisement, nor unto an increase of sin, but unto purification, and sanctification, and a pledge of the life and Kingdom to come, as a wall and a help, and the cleansing of evils, and the destruction of the spirits of wickedness. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
